PRSS Heads to Nova Scotia!
After two years of hard work fundraising, our PRSS travel group headed to Nova Scotia in July. Our club had 16 dancers travel to compete in the 160th anniversary of the Antigonish Highland Games. Our PRSS dancers brought home lots of hardware, freshly stamped cards, trophies and tons of happy memories of their East Coast visit!! -July 2025
SDCCS Ottawa 2025
We are SO EXCITED for PRSS dancers Tyla and Maisie who have arrived in Ottawa and are about to experience their very FIRST ScotDance Canada Championship Series!! The girls danced in the Pre-Premier, enjoying the biggest highland dancing stage in Canada -July 2025
PRSS 3rd Annual Open Competition
This past weekend PRSS hosted our 3rd annual competition. It was a fantastic day and a lot of fun for all the participants! 21 of our very own dancers got to compete at home, with everyone receiving a callback! Our dancers also entered in 3 of our choreographies from our spring recital! We cannot wait to host everyone again next year! -May 2025
Annual Recital - 2025
On Saturday May 10th we held our annual recital at Athabasca Hall. It was our 45th anniversary. Once again we had The Croakers join us and provided amazing live music to dance to which enhances the whole experience for the audience. This year we also had GP Legion #54 Pipe Band perform with us as well! Congratulations on the fantastic dance season!! -May 2025
2025 Nicole Dufresne Award
Nicole was a dancer with PRSS until her untimely passing in 1996 at 14 years old. This award is to honor Nicole, and is given to a dancer who shows dedication to their dancing, a positive attitude and friendship, all traits exemplified by Nicole. This years award recipient is Avery Robinson. -May 2025
SDTA J.L Mackenzie Nominees
Big Congratulations to our clubs 2025 SDTA North American Scholarship Nominees. These dancers worked extremely hard and earned top honors in their exams this past March. They will have the opportunity to travel to the World Highland Dancing Conference in October as the scholarship is part of this years events. The conference is held in Las Vegas!! Congratulations Lily, Nolan, Tyla, Katherine & Hayden. This is a wonderful achievement! -April 2025
Dance Outs & Pizza Parties!
Today the PRSS Dancers spread some long weekend cheer by showing off their dance moves for our local Seniors! Residents of Sutherland Place, Heritage Towers and Points west were treated to a mini show from all levels of our dancers. Later we then celebrated with a pizza party and watch old dance recitals to end our day! -February 2025
North of 60 Highland Dance Competition
PRSS had 8 Dancers travel up to Yellowknife to compete in the furthest northern highland dance competition in the world. With a scavenger hunt to go along with the beautiful drive, our dancers had the best time at this competition! Lots of fun, hardware, laughs, sightseeing, new experiences and memories made. A congratulation goes out to Lily who received the “Most Promising Dancer Award”. The award came with a $1000 scholarship to use to advance her dancing. Our dancers also participated in the Midnight fling, and the workshop that was held the next day! -August 2024
PRSS 2nd Annual Open Competition
It was a big day and busy weekend for the PRSS dancers! We hosted our first competition since before COVID!! It was a fantastic day being able to compete on home court! We welcomed 48 dancers from across Alberta and even British Columbia! We can’t wait for next year! -May 2024
44th Annual Year End Recital
Our 44th Annual Dance Recital was a success!! We had 23 stars of the show giving us a great performance! Biggest thank you to The Croakers for singing live music for us to dance to once again! All our dancers had the best time doing what they love! -May 2024
2023 St. Andrews Night
Today we had our annual St. Andrews night dance & Potluck. We love getting to show our family and friends what we have learnt so far this dance season. We even had a little Ceilidh to end our dance! Its always a great time after having our PRSS dinner, lots of laughs are shared through the night. -November 2023
SDTA North American Scholarship 2023
Lily had a fantastic weekend competing at this years SDTA Scholarship in Calgary! We hope all the learning and experience she gained will continue to fuel her passion for dance! -November 2023
Crieff Highland Games 2023
Crieff Highland Games first started in 1870! Our dancers had the privilege to represent our club, all earning some hardware and even cash to bring home! It was a fantastic experience! Thank you to everyone who supported the travel group and gave these girls an amazing opportunity -August 2023
Stirling Highland Games 2023
Our PRSS dancers Averi, Ava, Lily, Tyla, Avery & Maisie are competing in the Stirling Highland Games today in Scotland! Our dancers had the best time getting to experience their first Scotland Highland Games! -August 2023
SDTA Studio
Today our dancers visited the SDTA Head Office/Studio in Glasgow for a workshop with Karen Baird. Thank you SDTA for the amazing experience and Karen for the fantastic workshop! -August 2023
