Our Club

The Peace River Scottish Society was established in the community of Peace River, Alberta in September of 1979. The hard working group of founding board members wanted to preserve and promote scottish culture within our small, northern Canadian community. Their passion at the time was for scottish country dancing and focused on holding community ceilidh where the adults could get together and dance. The group also began to look at ways they could include their children, and our highland dancing program was born. Over the years we have welcomed many contracted teachers who have all left a lasting impact on our club. Our current teachers have been longstanding members of the Peace River Scottish Society and we are lucky and thankful to have them guiding and nurturing our dancers.
